Charity

Vancouver's PACE organization provides neccesary support to survival sex workers, but the organization itself is struggling to remain operational due to lack of funds.

This is alarming to me for two specific reasons:

1. Although other organizations catering to street-level sex workers exist, the PACE organization is comprised of former sex workers who have a working knowledge of occupation-specific issues.
2. Women and men who engage in sex work for survival are vulnerable to be coerced into acts that compromise their safety (such as not using a condom) and that they are not willing to perform. PACE offers a range of services designed to empower these sex workers, and for me the disappearance of the organization heralds a vast decrease in its beneficiaries' safety.

This is the reason I've decided to work with interested clients of mine to donate to PACE. I will accept a donation to PACE in lieu of my session donation - but even better, for reduced rates!

How it works:

1. Contact me to set up an appointment.
2. Make a donation to PACE through CanadaHelps. I would ask that you send them either of the following:
   1. $250 per 60 minutes with me, instead of my regular $300
   2. $500 per 120 minutes with me, instead of my regular $600
Of course, if you choose to donate more you'll be helping a very worthy cause, and one dear to me!

3. Bring along your donation receipt when you spend a lovely hour or two with me. To make things even easier, donate in my honour including my email address, and CanadaHelps will notify me! I'm not asking for donations in my honour, but I think it may be easier to protect your anonymity this way. My full name is not required; a simple "V. Vance" will do.
4. Feel great for helping out your fellow homo sapiens, and don't forget to mention it while doing your taxes!
